Judy Murphy was born in Altus, Oklahoma, graduated from Eisenhower High School & Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma and was married at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma – all within a 60 mile radius!
                       
Judy married William Murphy in 1975 while he was stationed at Ft. Sill. This Army aviator wanted to show her there was a world outside of Oklahoma!  They both enjoyed extensive traveling in Europe while stationed in Germany as well as assignments in Alabama, Kentucky, and Hawaii.  After Murphy retired from the Army, they looked for a place to settle within a few hours drive of Oklahoma.  (You can take the girl out of Oklahoma, but you can’t take Oklahoma out of the girl!)  They picked Denton off the map and moved here in 1995.

In September 1997, Judy joined the staff at FBCD.  She currently serves as the Pastoral Ministry Assistant and the Adults 55 Plus Ministry Assistant.  While at FBCD, she graduated from the University of North Texas with a Master of Science in Applied Gerontology.

In her spare time, Judy enjoys reading and quilting.  She makes a trip to Oklahoma to see her parents, Gunner & Carol Jean, and her sister, Jody & family as often as she can.  Her two brothers, Gunner and Randy are currently fellow Texans!
