Education
Shirley jointed the staff of FBCD in July of 2004. She received her Master of Arts in Childhood Christian Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2001. She also holds a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Counseling from Southwestern. She is a graduate of Dallas Baptist University where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Pastoral Ministries.

Background
Shirley grew up in Knoxville, Tennessee. Although she has been in Texas for 37 years, she still misses the hills of Tennessee. Shirley has served in children’s ministry for the past nineteen years. She was at Oates Drive in Mesquite for ten years, and Lakeside Baptist Church in Dallas for nine years. Shirley has served as a training consultant for the Dallas Baptist Association, and she has been a regional trainer for the Baptist General Convention of Texas.

Family
Shirley has been married to her husband James for 37 years. They have three adult children (Michelle, Troy and David) who live in the Dallas area. Currently they have five wonderful grandchildren (Jacob, Jessica, Jaymie, Cole and Peyton). Just ask to see the pictures!

Hobbies
Shirley enjoys spending time with her family, especially those grandchildren. She also enjoys crafts, reading and traveling with her husband.
