Traveling with the Gospel

I want to shout out the biggest kudos possible for our college ministry and for their efforts in Beach Reach 2019! Participating in this outreach was both exhilarating and exhausting! There’s no doubt whatsoever that the LORD will use those “gospel seeds sown” and bring about life and salvation for many.

Do you remember the parable of the Seed Sower? That story is the beginning of Matthew 13. There Jesus told the story of a farmer sowing his seeds. Some seeds fell in rocky places or weedy places and didn’t produce well. Some seeds, however, fell on good soil and produced a crop up to one hundred times that which was sown. A big take away from the parable of the Sower is this: You and I are responsible to sow the seeds (share the gospel) but it is God who brings the harvest.

So we travel with the gospel. We “go and tell” people everywhere of God’s love and his desire to forgive sins and save souls. This may occasionally mean traveling 800 miles to a place like Panama City Beach to engage spring breakers in gospel conversations. Far more often, it should mean traveling maybe the 80 feet from your door to your neighbor’s for the same purpose.

Let us also remember that Traveling with the Gospel isn’t a new idea. In fact, it is a biblical one:

Therefore GO and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you.  And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.
